Join Leadership Oakland on November 28th, 2007 for the first installment of their fortified Breakfast of Champions speaker series. Keith Cooley, Director, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (DLEG), will be presenting on “The Secret to Michigan’s Renaissance.”
A graduate of Leadership Oakland, Keith W. Cooley was appointed by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm as DLEG Director effective March 5, 2007. Known as an innovative problem solver, Keith Cooley was previously employed at Focus: HOPE where he melded his passion for community service with his corporate expertise. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2006, after serving four years as Chief Operating Officer of Focus: HOPE.
Cooley began his professional career in 1968 as an experimental physicist with General Electric Corp. He joined General Motors Corp. in 1972 as a project engineer and became program manager and an engineering director in its Cadillac Motor Car Division in 1985. Cooley was appointed Director, Strategic Planning, for the GM Corporate Communications Staff in 1994.

The first Breakfast event will be held Wednesday, November 28th, 2007, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., at the Michigan State Management Education Center, 811, W. Square Lake Rd., Troy, 48098. The cost is $30 LO alumni members and $34 for non members and guests and includes a complete breakfast. The public is welcome. Pre-registration required.
