Types of Mentoring
There are various types of mentoring. Here are the common definitions:
Community-Based Mentoring: Mentors and mentees spend time on activities they jointly select, such as attending sporting events or sharing everyday fun moments.
Career-Focused Mentoring: Mentors spend time with youth and young adults sharing work experience and life skills to increase motivation and open new doors.
Site-Based Mentoring: Supervised meetings occur between mentors and mentees at a dedicated site, such as a church or a community center.
School-Based Mentoring: Supervised meetings occur at a school, for instance, mentors and mentees might meet once a week and have lunch together at the school or meet directly after school.
