Author and Executive Coach, Jacquline Binkert, Ph.D conducts and presents her research all over the world. She is coach to a wide range of successful executives including Leadership Oakland graduate and CEO of NextEnergy, Keith Cooley.  According to Binkert, “What we pay attention to grows and if we spend much of our time focused on the perceived negative in our lives, our level of energy, hope and belief in the future languishes.”  On April 21, she will present her work and share tips for success at the Leadership Oakland Breakfast of Champions event.

Built into the Appreciative Coaching perspective are five key principles that Jackie will share: we are mysteries to be appreciated (Constructionist Principle), we need to grow the positive for inner balance (Positive Principle), all change happens in the present (Simultaneity Principle), we are not resistant to change but to being changed (Poetic Principle), and the future begins where we are (Anticipatory Principle).

You will understand the importance of these principals and learn techniques Jackie uses with her leadership clients to help them embrace their own capacity to flourish and create the future they most desire. Client stories and examples will clarify how the appreciative approach helps leaders shift their attention to be at their best and to inspire peak performance not only in themselves but in those they lead.
