Gerard van Grinsven, President and CEO of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital and formerly of the Ritz Carlton, is shaking up the healthcare industry!  On January 27th, 2009 he will discuss the breakthrough concepts that he believes will set Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital apart from the traditional healthcare model. Leadership Oakland is hosting this breakfast event as part of their series on Innovative Leadership.
 
With a background of 24 years in the luxury hospitality industry, Gerard is bringing his approach to service excellence to the hospital environment.  But what do the Ritz Carlton and a hospital have in common?  Join Gerard as he paints the picture of hospital care with a new brushstroke and raises the quality bar in healthcare environments nationwide.
 
The Breakfast of Champions event, “Innovative Leadership: Shifting the Paradigm”  will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2009, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., at the Management Education Center, 811 West Square Lake Road, Troy, 48098. The cost is $32 for LO alumni members and $36 for non members and guests and includes a complete breakfast. The public is welcome. Pre-registration required. Established in 1990, Leadership Oakland is a 501 (c)(3) organization focused on business and community leadership development. Leadership Oakland is a member of The Community Leadership Association. The organization provides a nine-month community leadership Cornerstone Program to participants from businesses, organizations and governmental agencies that are selected based on an application process. The organization continues to provide educational and networking opportunities to alumni after graduation from the Cornerstone Program. Leadership Oakland graduates are key business and community leaders serving as catalysts on boards of various organizations throughout the region.
