Nancy Maurer’s Leadership Oakland journey began as a class member of LOXXV where she immediately “clicked” with the organization and its mission, instinctively knowing she’d be a part of LO for a long time. She calls the opportunity to serve and lead the organization “a dream come true.” The career path that led her to, and prepared her for, the Executive Director position included roles in talent and organizational development, public relations/communications and non-profit experience

.Nancy is committed to fulfilling her purpose of being a catalyst and resource for individuals and communities to be as strong, healthy, vibrant and productive as possible. She refers to herself as a “realistic optimist,” seeing both the big vision and possibilities as well as the logical path and challenges to achieving them.
A Michigan native who spent nearly 20 years in Cleveland, Nancy suffers from a serious case of split loyalties whenever professional sports teams from the two cities face off (Go Pistons! Or CAVS?!). She is also a voracious reader, wannabe fast runner, and active in volunteering on poverty, education and women’s initiatives.

Carol Dendler joined the team as Assistant to the Executive Director after working for the Science and Engineering fair of Metro Detroit for 20 years. Carol is the face (and voice, just dial x1) of LO, and spends her days making sure that things run smoothly.
Carol is the proud Grandma of a brand new baby girl, who she loves to spoil. She enjoys spending her free time indulging in fresh produce at the Oakland County Market and boating on Higgins Lake with her friends and family.

Susan Hollady

Susan Hollady has always loved being in the action. Before she joined LO as a Project Manager, she worked for 20 years in the IT industry, traveling throughout the Midwest supporting customers. The LO network was a natural fit for Susan, as she loves to interact with and learn from diverse groups of people. Susan believes that it is important for leaders to be willing to always accept a challenge, but do it with honesty.
One of Susan’s passions has been working with children. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Crossroads for Youth. They are a non-profit organization that serves at risk youth. Susan also loves to play tennis competitively and travel internationally. When she is home, you can find her dining at her favorite local Italian spot - Picano’s, or cheering at a Red Wings game.
