Troy, MI — Beginning July 1, Leadership Oakland will operate with a new slate of officers and directors. Two members of the board are vacating their positions due to term limits and other provisions outlined in the organizational by-laws. Leaving the board are Board President Kevin Wisely, Genisys Credit Union, and Michael Silverstein, Oakland University. Both individuals were recognized and thanked for their service at the Leadership Oakland Annual Meeting held June 11, 2016.
New to the 2016-2017 board are Scott Hiipakka, Ethicon – Johnson and Johnson and Dominic Mirabella, Northwestern Mutual. The Board Executive Team will include: President, Michelle Crockett, Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, P.L.C.; Vice President, Phil Korovesis, Butzel Long, P.C.; Secretary, Patricia Blount, St. John Providence Health System; and Treasurer, Jim Piper, Ralco Industries.
All members of the board are graduates of the Leadership Oakland nine-month-long Cornerstone program and have a passion and commitment to developing leaders in Southeast Michigan. Leadership Oakland Executive Director, Nancy Maurer commented on the board, “This wonderful group of leaders takes their role as a governance body very seriously.
