What better way to celebrate Veterans Day than an evening with one of the areas most successful veteran businessmen. Hear of his fascinating journey from a custodian to a billion dollar company founder.  Leadership Oakland’s Veteran Day celebration will feature Mr. Barfield and his remarkable story which is sure to inspire all in attendance.

John W. Barfield is himself a veteran and is well known as an accomplished businessman, leader and philanthroper. He is the founder of Bartech Group, an industry-leading staffing and workforce management firm. Barfield began his career as a janitor making $1.75 an hour. He built a cleaning company so profitable that ITT outbid three other corporate giants to buy it in 1969. Launching many successful companies, Barfield developed one of the nation’s largest African-American owned business organizations that now manages more than $2 billion in sales.
