Give back to the community by participating in the Leadership Oakland "Day of Service"!

Leadership Oakland LOXXVIII Day of Service, in partnership with the HOPE Recuperative Center, is raising funds to provide a recuperative garden for the clients to enjoy.
To do this the class will execute the following:
Installing a recuperative garden behind the new HOPE Recuperative Center to include:
- Building raised garden beds
- Creating seating for all ability levels
- Incorporating peaceful elements such as a bird bath in the center of the garden
Removing the old parking area completed ahead of the project date by licensed contractors
Laying topsoil and reseeding over the parking area
About Hope Recuperative Center
HOPE Recuperative Center is the only place in southeast Michigan where homeless individuals can receive proper post hospital care until they recover their strength. This specialty shelter offers up to 10 guests a safe and supportive environment, as well as meals, oversight of their medical treatment, follow-up car, connection with community mental health programs, legal clinic, helping people secure vital identity documents and connection with housing options.

Our fundraising efforts will help the Hope Recuperative Center design and build a healing garden for the individuals receiving care.
